Description
The core drill is a drill specifically designed to remove a cylinder of material, much like a hole saw. The material left inside the drill bit is referred to as the core. They are used in metal and are called annular cutters. They can also be used for drilling concrete and are generally called Diamond Drills and are water cooled.
Diamond core drilling is a high-speed, high-production method of drilling in concrete, stone, asphalt or masonry structures. They cut easily through rebars, allowing the holes to be placed wherever it is most suitable.

Interesting Facts
These water cooled drills are used in concrete. For drilling masonry, carbide drills can be used.
They are often used in mineral exploration where the coring may be several hundred to several thousand feet in length. This gives the information necessary to begin or leave mining operations in an area.
They come with several power choices including electric, pneumatic, hydraulic (all of which require power sources, such as a generator).
